I found some gallery code written in 'prototype' and modified it so that it will automatically create a gallery view for us when we post images that are links to larger images - sample below:

New (updated) blog
So I've found a standard theme that I like (Yes chris - I know I should make my own, but I'm lazy right now..), I've changed around my original blog from 2005/6 and set it up for use while we are overseas for christmas.. The hope is that we'll have somewhere to dump images and stories for people to see who don't have Facebook.
