31/12/10 New Years Eve Copenhagen

We drove into town again to check out the royal palace. There was a fresh layer of ice on the roads because of the rain the night before. It was hard not to laugh while we were trying to get traction at the lights or while all of the traffic just seemed to share lanes because of the snow. We were doing our fare share of lane sharing anyway... Laurie was still getting used to the drivers seat on the other side of the car and was having spacing issues.. We managed to close our right hand mirror twice by bumping into the mirrors of parked cars. What worried us passengers more was when we seemed to be travelling down the middle of two lanes and heading quickly towards a stopped bus...
Anyway, Laurie did a good job! There's no way I'd touch that steering wheel!
We had a contact at the palace which meant exclusive parking for us. This meant that the palace doors opened up and let us drive in. Laurie skillfully gave the right side door a touch up with his mirror... Yup! We're all sitting in the car looking at each other in shock saying "Did we just run into the friggin palace doors...? OMG!!!!"
Yes we did. Hahaha! Thank god they use strong paint! I'm sure those chips were there already.
We celebrated the new year with another giant feast at Restaurant Kim. I don't think i've ever eaten so much in my life and my buttons and velcro kept popping open on my snow pants. I may need a new wardrobe when we get back...
We celebrated with a toast and walked out to the frozen lake to watch the fireworks.
Happy New Year Everyone!
